How do I add affiliate links to an existing blog post?
Find the right places
Look for product names, tools, or services you already discuss. Those mentions are natural places for a link because the reader is already interested. Avoid adding links to sections that have nothing to do with the product, since that looks forced and can cost you trust.
Keep the number of links reasonable. A few relevant links in a helpful post usually do more than a dense block of buttons at the end.
Add the link and the context
Link the product name inside a sentence that explains what it does and who it suits. Avoid vague anchor text such as 'click here'. Confirm the link opens the correct page and carries the tracking code that the program gave you.
Test every link after saving, including on a phone. Broken or redirect-heavy links are easy to miss in a long post. Re-check the links whenever a merchant changes its URL structure. Keep each link in a plain sentence near the product mention, and check that the disclosure sits where readers will see it before they click.
Update the rest of the post
Add a short disclosure near the top of the post, not only in the footer. While you are editing, refresh old prices, features, and availability. Then request reindexing in your search tool so the update is picked up sooner.
Common mistakes
- Stuffing links into every paragraph until the post reads like an advertisement.
- Editing the links but forgetting to add or update the disclosure.
